Services for PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORKPLACES
     
Silver Linings provides services of the required 'External Member' for the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and 'Gender Sensitization' workshops and trainings.

"Sexual harassment is a violation of the fundamental right of a woman to equality, her right to life and to live with dignity", as defined in the Constitution of India. It is also a violation of her right to a safe environment, free from harassment.
Making Indian workplaces safe and harassment free to facilitate gender inclusion is now on our country's national agenda. Government of India has recently enacted the "Sexual harassment of women at work place-Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act-2013" (The SH Act) which makes it mandatory for employers in India to follow certain measures to address the issue of sexual harassment at the work place with the seriousness and respect that it deserves.
The SH Act also prescribes penalties for such of those employers who do not take cognizance of this Act and/or do not follow the guidelines.
Silver Linings provides the following services which are needed by every employer wishing to abide by the SH Act in letter & spirit:
Training: Awareness & training through custom-built workshops.
We conduct workshops for all level of employees on gender sensitization, awareness about the kind of behavior that can be harassing as well as cordiality in a professional environment.
External Membership of Internal Complaints Committee set up as mandated by SH Act-2013
As per the SH Act, it is mandatory for employers with 10 or more employees to constitute an Internal Complaint Committee for redressal of grievances related to sexual harassment and appoint an external consultant who is familiar with such issues as one of the members. We offer our expert services as external consultants in such committees, as Silver Linings Trust has the required experience in the area of empowerment of women.
Consulting engagement for harassment prevention
The enactment of the Act has brought out a need for a specific and robust organizational policy on prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment and to have in place an effective mechanism for redressal of grievances. Non-compliance is subject to penalties as provided in the act itself.
